EARTHQUAKE EMERGENCY

Earthquakes devastated the Pacific Island nation of Vanuatu, home to Wycliffe Associates’ ministry partners who are engaged in eight Bible translation projects.

The first earthquake was 7.3 magnitude; it took the lives of 14 and injured hundreds as buildings toppled, including the U.S. Embassy, which collapsed with people inside.

Emergency relief is stretched thin, with little access to food, water, medicine, and safe shelter. Damage to the airport, plus additional earthquakes, landslides, and impassable roads present many obstacles. Power, phone, and internet are crippled by a damaged undersea cable.

Your support is needed now because our Emergency 911 Fund is now depleted, yet national Bible translators and their families are in crisis and need our help urgently.

The immediate need of $10,000 to provide translators and their families with food, water, medicine, clothing, and basic necessities for life has been met. Now, we need $36,910 for safe shelter and repairs. But the fund is depleted.

I’m praying you will be as generous as possible—not only to meet the needs of these precious believers, but also to replenish the Emergency 911 Fund so we can respond immediately when a disaster strikes and national Bible translators face a crisis situation.

Thank you for praying and giving to relieve the suffering of our ministry partners, and to help continue the Bible translation projects they hold so dear.
