Bible Translation Continues Despite the Crisis

In past weeks as the COVID-19 virus has spread, we have been quickly responding, trying to prayerfully determine the best course of action for our ministry. We know, too, that this is impacting your life as well. You have been on our hearts and in our prayers.

As we navigate these unprecedented times, we want to affirm a few things that are not changing:

  1. 1. Our faith and confidence is in God. He is in control, and we trust in His wisdom and guidance.
  2. 2. Our mission and our calling is to accelerate Bible translation. We serve the local church around the world, helping believers to bring God’s Word to their people groups.
  3. 3. We are surrounded by prayer warriors, like you, who are lifting up Bible translation and the translators on the ground before the Lord on a daily basis.

Every reasonable measure and precaution is being taken to keep Bible translators safe—and they are more committed than ever. They want to keep translating God’s Word to help their people deal with the questions, hopelessness, and sorrow that comes from facing a pandemic like this.

There are millions of people around the world still waiting for God’s Word in their heart language, and there are hundreds of language groups planning to begin their translations this spring.

Right now, many Bible translators are being prevented from meeting in groups—they are working to find new locations for translation and new ways to share information with their teams. But they can continue their work. While the COVID-19 threat is real, it cannot stop the spread of God’s Word among the nations.

Today, we are in need of your prayers—and your financial help—as we respond to changing conditions and equip translators around the world to continue the work of His hands through times of uncertainty. Please give generously today!
